Nissan Leaf to Make Profitable Addition to Lineup

Recently we talked about the stellar response to the opening of the Leaf’s pre-ordering availability. Now it seems that just weeks after consumers were able to claim their own Leaf, Nissan is already projecting the Leaf to be the world’s first profitable electric vehicle.

Technology often comes at a price, to both consumers and manufactures. This is why hybrids typically are more costly than their gasoline-only counterparts. But to to the overwhelmingly positive response to the Leaf, and continual dealer inquiries about the vehicle such as those at Tacoma Nissan, the automaker expects that the Leaf will be a highly profitable vehicle with a mass appeal.

“We are making money at the price that we announced,” Mark Perry, Nissan’s director of North American product planning, told Reuters. “We priced the car to be affordable. We priced it for mass adoption.”

Nissan Leaf EV Off To A Great Start Already

Earth Day 2010 occurred the same week that consumers were able to reserve their very own Nissan Leaf electric vehicle. These two events coincided perfectly, so it’s no wonder why the Leaf is already turning into a success months before its availability.

Nissan Reveals Electric NV200 Commercial Van

Earlier this year, Nissan launched the NV200, a new van that the automaker would use to dive into the lucrative light commercial vehicle segment. Further solidifying its commitment to the commercial vehicle segment, and to developing advanced vehicle technology for consumers, Nissan will soon launch an all-electric NV200.

Powered by the same electric powertrain as the upcoming Nissan Leaf electric vehicle, the NV200 appears to also share similar styling cues with the Leaf suggests Washington DC Nissan dealers, including sweeping headlamps, raked windshield, and even similar colors. Like the Leaf, the NV200 is also void of a grille.

2010 Nissan Altima Receives Modest Updates

The latest Nissan Altima may not seem too different to many consumers, but for 2010 Nissan has made a series of minor, but attractive updates.

Perhaps the most notable changes to the 2010 Nissan Altima says Alexandria Nissan is the updated grille, bumper, and hood. As the Altima is still far from a full redesign, the updated fascia is helpful in keeping the Altima’s good looks fresh. For 2010 there are also all-new wheel designs.

The 2010 the Altima lineup remains the same and includes the sedan, coupe, and hybrid. According to Rossville GA Nissan, the Altima coupe begins at $23,160, the sedan begins at $20,260, and the Altima hybrid begins at $27,500.

Nissan Receives $1.6 Billion to Produce Electric Cars in U.S.

Nissan has already made news this week for outlining their ambitious plan for producing and selling electric vehicles to U.S. consumers by 2012. To aid Nissan in manufacturing these clean vehicles in the U.S., Nissan will also be receiving a $1.6 billion loan from the U.S. government.

The production of these new electric cars will take place in Nissan’s Smyrna, Tennessee assembly facility say Worcester Sentra retailers. Powering the cars will be lithium-ion batteries which will also be produced at the same plant but in all-new facilities.

One Worcester Nissan dealer suggest that one of the biggest obstacles to the adoption of electric vehicles is the lack of a suitable infrastructure. Could Nissan Be Buying Chrysler?

Rumors have persisted recently concerning the possible purchase of Chrysler by Nissan. Since the Nissan and Chrysler have entered a manufacturing deal earlier, speculation had escalated about more involved between the fairly stable Japanese automaker and the struggling Chrysler. Nissan has tried to unsuccessfully create and strengthen partnerships before. One example is earlier this year when Nissan had attempted to build ties with General Motors, as well as Ford. But as Chrysler’s problems deepened, it made sense that Nissan could gain much from a Chrysler partnership.

A Nissan and Chrysler partnership is already going to be mutually beneficial for both automakers. New Improvements to the Nissan Armada May Go Unnoticed

The Nissan Armada may not look new from the outside, but this model year brings much needed updates to Nissan’s largest SUV. The All-New 2009 Nissan Murano

The new Nissan Murano looks very much like the previous generation Murano. However, for 2009 the Murano gets all new sheet metal, despite the familiar look.

When introduced in 2003 as a 2004 model, the Nissan Murano was a huge hit for the company.
